En la primera prueba, El reto creativo, los concursantes tendrán que dejar volar su imaginación para cocinar pero también deberán inspirarse en sus recuerdos. Deberán elaborar el plato de su infancia para tratar de obtener la mejor calificación por parte del jurado y conseguir así el delantal de capitán para la prueba por equipos.Ya en exteriores, MasterChef rendirá homenaje a algunos de los deportistas más laureados de nuestro país como Pepu Hernández, Ángel Nieto, Almudena Cid o Fermín Cacho. Los aspirantes deberán deleitarles con una buena comida y un vino de excelencia en un entorno incomparable: las bodegas de Marqués de Riscal.Los concursantes que no estén a la altura competirán en las cocinas por quedarse en Masterchef. En la prueba de eliminación, cada vez más complicada, deberán ganarse su permanencia en el programa cocinando la mejor Albacora, un pescado muy espinoso y con una piel muy dura.
